Furniture Arrangement

Furniture Arrangement
The way you arrange your furniture goes a long way in enhancing the style and beauty of the living room. The simplest way to arrange furniture is to create a focal point which can be a window, fireplace or painting. It is better if the focal point is attached to the wall so that you can move your furniture away from the walls and create an interesting arrangement.
As you arrange the furniture it is important to ensure that the alleyways are clear and wide enough for traffic; to also ensure that the place is not cluttered.
You can start by placing a sofa or a couch in the middle of the room and complete the grouping with a coffee table and armchairs.
The tables should be placed within the reach of the seats and must also be of the same height with the seats. Try different angles because this brings in some style to the arrangement. For example, if your sofa is set parallel to the wall, put an armchair diagonally across the room.
Angled arrangement is a good idea for the bedroom. A combination of patterned rugs, matching duvets and curtains can be used to accentuate the style of the room.
For multipurpose rooms, use a focal point to demarcate one area from another. Arrange furniture around the focal point of each area. For example, the dining room furniture could be arranged around the window or under the painting, while the other part of the room has its own focal point. That way, you will emphasize the difference between the rooms and accentuate the purpose of each of them.
Remember to balance out the sizes of the furniture, as big furniture will look really awkward, while too many small pieces will make the room look cluttered. Experiment with the angles and use unconventional furniture to make the room elegant.
